INDIVIDUAL AGENT OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Honouring those individuals who have particularly excelled in the past year, these awards are open for agents and agencies to nominate colleagues and staff who they feel are worthy of recognition not just for their professional performance, but for their wider efforts to support partners, their teams, customers and communities.

Continuing a streamlined process designed to reduce pressure on agents’ time, nominations are limited to 300 words with a final judging process taking place virtually with a panel of independent judges in May. Shortlisted agents will be asked to confirm they are happy to take part, with judging taking place w/c May23rd.

The deadline for nominations and entries is April 27.

Young Leisure Agent of the Year

Open to agents 20 years of age and under on the entry deadline date (April 27), operating in any sales channel, including high street, call centre, online and from home. A shortlist will be invited to a appear before a judging panel.

Sustainability Champions of the Year (Small and Large)

Open to travel agencies operating in any sales channel, including high street, call centre, online and from home. A shortlist will be drawn up and assessed by a judging panel. The cut-off point for small agency is fewer than 50 sales staff. Any agency with more than 50 sales staff will be included in the large agency category.

Please include reference to your agency’s commitment to sustainable practices within the business environment, commitment to expanding knowledge of responsible tourism products and opportunities, development of relationships with suppliers offering sustainable products and proof of business impact/deliverables in the area of sustainable travel. Details of high performance and examples of excellence are required for consideration for the shortlist.

One to Watch Award

Honouring an agent or agency operating on the high street, call centre, online or from home, which has been operating as a standalone business for less than 24 months on the deadline date of April 27. A shortlist will be judged by a panel of experts, at which point further detail/evidence may be requested.

Please include reference to your agency’s commitment to and strategic approach to staff wellbeing and development, the rationale for your strategy, details of training and development opportunities, the impact of your strategy on staff progression and retention, the impact of your strategy on business performance and the impact on the wider workforce and community. Details of performance and examples of excellence are required for consideration for the shortlist.

Mental Health Matters Award

Nominated by the named individual or the nominee’s agency. Open to any agent or agency staff member operating on the high street, call centre, online or from home.

Building on Travel Weekly’s Mental Health Matters series of articles and events, this award is open for nominations for an agent or agency staff member in any sales channel, including high street, call centre, online and from home. A shortlist will be drawn up and assessed by a judging panel

Shortlisted candidates will be able to demonstrate they have taken an active role in encouraging positive mental health for colleagues and even customers. Successful nominations will need to demonstrate tangible evidence of efforts to support wellbeing over the past 12 months.
